2026 Heroes Bowl: High-Stakes Lacrosse for a Heroic Cause

Heroes Bowl Graphic

On Saturday, March 28, 2025, lacrosse teams from around the Carolinas gathered at Ballantyne Ridge High School for the 6th annual Heroes Bowl. More than just a showcase of elite athletic talent, the event served as a powerful tribute to the heroes who serve the community every day.

Playing for a Purpose

The Heroes Bowl brings together the “best-of-the-best” high school lacrosse teams for top-tier competition while supporting our local heroes. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Salute to Heroes Charlotte Foundation, an organization dedicated to assisting local police, firefighters, and first responders in their times of need.

As Mike Desmond, Ballantyne Ridge Lacrosse coach and founder of StickWithUs.org, puts it “You shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back”.

The Legacy of StickWithUs

Since 2001, StickWithUs.org has been a cornerstone of lacrosse growth in the Carolinas. What started as a youth program with 70 boys has evolved into a premier organization that has produced national-level talent and helped establish the sport across North and South Carolina.

Founder Mike Desmond credits the success to “hiring great people and coaches and just staying out of their way”. While the organization has seen many players move on to win National Championships in college, Desmond finds the most reward in watching these young athletes grow into “positive, contributing members of society”.
