Lake Norman High School will begin the 2026 football season ranked among the top teams in North Carolina.
The Wildcats are No. 25 in the MaxPreps preseason North Carolina Top 25 after finishing the 2025 season with an 8-4 record.
Lake Norman is the only Iredell-Statesville Schools program included in the preseason rankings.
The statewide list features defending state champions, regional contenders and programs from both the N.C. High School Athletic Association and the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association.
For Lake Norman, the recognition follows a winning 2025 campaign and establishes the Wildcats as one of the teams to watch entering the fall.
